Going to see Green Day in a few hours!
This post was copied from my Last.fm journal entry…
It’s kinda sad to think that, as the number one listener of Green Day on Last.fm, I have never been to a Green Day concert. I’ve been listening almost religiously since Dookie was released back in 1994. I own all of their album releases here in the US (even Shenanigans–which is GREAT).
I’m sure the tour is for American Idiot (which is probably my least favorite album), but I’d really like to hear some of their other stuff. To me, American Idiot lost some of Green Day’s punkish feel and went a little too political and controversial for my taste.
However, to contradict the punkish complaint about American Idiot, I’d have to say my favorite album is Warning with my favorite songs at a tie between Waiting and Macy’s Day Parade.
I’m still pretty excited about going. I’ll be heading out from Chattanooga to make the 2-hour drive to Nashville around 5:00 Eastern for the concert at 7:00 Central. I’d be cool if I got any special treatment (like going backstage to meet the band or something) for being #1 here.
I’ll write up a review when I get back from the concert if I’m not too tired.
