Female mushing: Really cool or breaking the laws of nature?
So, my roomate has made a friend through his Star Trek MUSH. First of all, that’s geeky in and of itself. He spends a few hours each day playing the thing. He’s probably put just as much time into it this year as some of you have put in to World of Warcraft. It’s just sick.
Now, you want to know the really strange part about all of it? This new friend of his is female. And she’s cute! To me, that just doesn’t make sense. It’s rare enough to find a girl that likes to play video games even once in a blue moon. But text-based MUSHing on a regular basis is kinda like jumbo shrimp. It’s an oxymoron.
Want a real kicker? When we fly out to visit Adam in WA, she’s going to drive from Portland to visit him. Yes, he met a friend–a girl that is cute–and she is going to drive a couple of hours to meet him. And it’s all on the wrong side of the continent. That part kinda makes us sad. But, hey, it’s still pretty cool. The Internet works in strange and wonderful ways.
Are there any cute, female MUSHers or even gamers in Chattanooga? Come out, come out, wherever you are!
