I’m trying something new. I’m uploading all of my pictures to Flickr instead of to my server. I’m not entirely sure why other than it could save on disk I/O, bandwidth, and probably has better redundancy than the RAID 1 installed in this server. Since my Flickr account was a total wreck, I wiped it clean…deleted 1,610 pictures! Unfortunately, it broke a LOT of links in posts already. I think I probably should have kept all the “cameraphone”-tagged photos in place as those make up for a lot of what I post. Hindsight is 20/20, I guess.
So, I’m starting from scratch. As of 12:30 AM and some odd seconds, I have 2,139 pictures uploaded to Flickr. And that’s just a drop in the bucket. There are some I’m not going to re-upload to Flickr (like old animals and computer stuff) and other stuff that may take a little longer for fine-tuning of collections, sets, and tags. I’m just getting most of the special events, parties, and vacations up for now. And pictures of my current animals (3 dogs, 2 cats, and J.J.).
And, as of about 5 minutes ago, my stats on Flickr are WAY up, too. Here’s a screenshot (clicky for full) of my Flickr stats–just a slight jump!
